Founded July 2021 · Asia · Southeast Asia
Demystifying law for the next generation of Southeast Asian legal minds.

"To make the legal profession accessible to youth across Singapore and Southeast Asia — through conferences, outreach, and programmes that connect curious students with the full breadth of what a legal career can look like."
Future Lawyers Singapore
What We Do
01
Our flagship in-person conference at Singapore Management University brings together students, law school panellists, and working lawyers for a full-day programme — from keynote talks on Legal Tech to deep-dive panels on law school pathways and careers beyond the bar.
02
We run competitive mooting and legal advocacy workshops for students across Singapore, giving pre-law youth hands-on experience constructing and defending arguments — the skills that define a legal career.
03
Through direct partnerships with junior colleges and secondary schools, we bring legal education into classrooms before students ever set foot in a law faculty — demystifying the profession and inspiring students who might never have considered law.
The Team
Leadership
Chuah Yun Xuan
President
Incoming Law undergraduate who believes law is most charismatic when new problems resist old rules. Hopes FLS can inspire students to engage the unknown with more curiosity.
Darrell Pui
Vice-President
Incoming undergraduate heading to the United States for college. Drawn to law for its role in navigating complex moral and social questions and how legal institutions shape individual lives.
Tan Yu Ming
Secretary-Treasurer
Incoming law undergraduate currently serving the nation. Hopes to empower youth to think critically about legal issues and make the law more accessible to all.
Programmes
Amanda Lai
Programmes Director
Incoming law undergraduate with a curiosity for medical negligence law. Spending her days hustling for money to blow it on travelling — but much prefers hunting for thrift finds, dancing, and water sports.
Liu Binrui
Programmes Director
J1 student at Raffles Institution with a love of sidequesting across sports, finance, and law. Drawn to law for its prominence in society's undercurrent structure, enveloping each of us in the rule of law.
Bryan Wong
Programmes Executive
J1 student at Raffles Institution. His favourite introduction: "what music do you think I listen to?" — most never get it right (white girl pop). Excited to learn about law and create opportunities for youth.
Evangeline Liew
Programmes Executive
Year 5 IBDP student at SJI with a love for music and food. When not rushing coursework, found exploring new food spots or planning the next getaway.
Leslie Tan
Programmes Executive
Year 5 student taking HELM at Raffles Institution. With a questionable number of activities, can be found at the basketball court, mala stall, or library. Excited to demystify the legal profession through FLS.
Tham Harkman
Programmes Executive
Y5 student at Hwa Chong Institution who dabbles in philosophy and poetry. Captivated by the fascinating ways lawyers design legal solutions for complex issues companies and nations face.
Samuel Teo
Programmes Executive
Prefers impactful community work over routine National Service. Spends weekends teaching violin and running health screening sessions. Aims to counter civic apathy by cultivating empathy across society.
Chen Chak Kai
Programmes Executive
A mountains-over-beaches, skiing-over-everything kind of person. Year 4 student whose younger age gives him a wide range of experiences. Hopes to both contribute to and learn from others through FLS.
Lauryn Lian
Programmes Executive
J2 student at Raffles Institution who loves travelling, scenic hikes, and skating. Fascinated by the law's universal applicability — its ability to serve as a timeless common language through which societies navigate conflict.
Moot
Liu FengXu
Moot Director
Incoming law undergraduate with a love for serendipitous adventures and meeting new friends from all corners of the earth.
Li Xiyuan
Moot Executive
Believes in slowing down to enjoy the present moment. Recently discovered his interest in law and is excited to learn more from the talented team at FLS.
Reann Khor
Moot Executive
Final-year student at Raffles Institution with a love for music and a firm belief in saying yes to new experiences. Guided by a YOLO mindset — excited to learn more and discover where the journey takes her.
Prakriti Satpathi
Moot Executive
Moot Executive at Future Lawyers Singapore.
Gesar Foo
Moot Executive
A simple man: basketball, food, and friends are all he needs to be happy. But law is not simple — nonetheless, he enjoys navigating its complexities and hopes everyone can discover what makes the law meaningful to them.
Wagisha Wani
Moot Executive
Year 5 student at RI who loves cycling at night, reading murder mysteries, and dancing. Having changed school 6 times, she can be dropped into any team and be right at home.
Deng Zhuoyan
Moot Executive
Year 5 HCI student who loves debates, musicals, D&D, sci-fi, mandopop, and literal days of FLS. Most importantly, he loves a good argument.
Schools
Melinda Cao
Schools Director
Incoming law undergraduate inspired by how the law touches every aspect of life. Usually found reading, running, or drawing parallels across different fields to deploy as future party tricks.
Liu Lexi
Schools Executive
J2 student at Hwa Chong Institution who enjoys non-fiction, classical music, and cafes. After side quests in science research, MUNs, and mooting, discovered her interest in law and philosophy of morality.
Mika'el Martin Shah
Schools Executive
Secondary 4 student devoted to the humanities and sworn math-hater. Drawn to the thrill of litigation, fuelled by a love for fashion, experimental cooking, and global travel.
Outreach
Lauren Rice
Outreach Director
Incoming law undergraduate who enjoys reading philosophy, travelling, and taking photos for her Pinterest board. Interest in corporate litigation stems from a fascination with corporate structures — also keen on pro bono work in animal rights law.
Isabella Thang
Outreach Executive
Interest in law sprouted in Sec 2 at her first debate competition. Likes to indulge in random ideas, music, and poetry in her free time. Wishes that youth would see the legal profession beyond its stereotypical understanding.
Chien Ying
Outreach Executive
Incoming public policy undergraduate still figuring out where her many loose ends will tie together. Teaches debate to teenagers, logs an embarrassing amount of time on Letterboxd, and tries not to kill her orchids.
Marketing
Rachel Wee
Marketing Director
Interest in law sparked in Secondary 4 at the Moot Parliament Programme. Learning how legal arguments are constructed and defended sparked her interest in criminal law and litigation. When not struggling with JC tutorials, probably watching another Legally Blonde rerun.
Kaelyn Hong
Marketing Director
Incoming PPE undergraduate who likes to draw, bake, and read. Drawn to how deeply law is intertwined with society. If not in a cafe with a $7 matcha, likely making something on Canva.
Zynn Wong
Marketing Executive
Aspiring law student committed to getting straight to the facts. As the perpetual underdog, inclined to support the less fortunate — a reason she's drawn to law. When not fretting on Canva, likely editing Wikipedia articles.
Yeo Ying Xuan
Marketing Executive
Marketing Executive at Future Lawyers Singapore.
